Black Gold Golf Club in Yorba Linda is a premier Arthur Hills championship design featuring gentle elevation changes over rolling hills with strategic bunkering and incredible vistas overlooking coastal orange and LA counties. With fine conditioning and superb landscaping that includes a stunning waterfall off the 18th green, this course was awarded 4 stars by Golf Digest Places to play and also has been recognized as one of the top two best municipal layouts in southern California and top 50 in the state by Southland Golf Magazine.
The property is also known for its high quality of VIP professional customer service and upscale amenities, making it a favorite in the area for outings, weddings and corporate and special events. The beautiful 20,000 square foot clubhouse features banquet facilities for up to 250 guests, a dedicated wedding lawn and Park View Grill. There also is a snack bar, a nicely stocked pro shop, plus locker rooms with showers for men and women. A separate conference room can facilitate meetings of up to 16 people. The property has DSL internet and Wi-Fi capabilities.
Practice facilities include a grass range with five target greens and sand traps that create an authentic feel, with stacks of Nike balls that are complimentary for green-fee paying guests. 100% baseball stadium lighting means that golfers can use this facility in the evening as well! There are three expansive greens - one that is designed for lob shots and for sand bunker practice. Corporate clinics are offered, and a variety of instruction is available from professional PGA certified instructors.
On course yardage markers are situated on the fairways of all par fours and fives, and ProLink GPS on all carts provides hole diagrams and useful information from tee to pin. Each golf cart also comes equipped with ball and club washers as well as ice chests.
Five sets of tee boxes are fairly evenly interspersed, affording all levels of players with an opportunity to choose a set that fits there game. The tips measure 6756 yards and play to a slope of 133. Remaining tees play to distances and slopes measuring 6439 yards/130 slope, 6045 yards/125 slope, 5564 yards with a slope of 118 fro men and 132 for women, and 4937 yards with a slope of 124 for ladies hitting from the front tees.
Golfers will encounter a very undulating terrain, with some ravine carries and gorgeous surrounding vistas. The view from the drive to the 11th hole is remarkable, and coincidentally, the par three 10th and par four 11th are two of the most scenic holes on the course. The back side in particular, has some raised greens and some beautiful elevated tee areas. The green complexes on both sides are medium in size and quite undulating, with swales and collection areas waiting for miss hit approaches.
On a clear day visitors can view Catalina Island and the Pacific Ocean from several points along the course.
